1. First, you need to have a rooted device. If you don’t have one, you can still root your Pixel XL, 2, 2XL, 3, and 3XL using the following procedures.
  2. Once you have a rooted device, you can then start rooting it using the following procedures.
  3. To root your Pixel XL, 2, 2XL, 3, and 3XL using the following procedures: a. First make sure that your device is properly unlocked by going to Settings -> Security -> Unlocked devices and selecting your device from the list. Then enter into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Down and Power at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see a screen that says “ Recovery Mode” . Now press Volume Up . After entering into recovery mode press and hold Volume Down and Power at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see a screen that says “ Reboot” . Now press Volume Up . After rebooting your phone into recovery mode enter into root mode by pressing and holding Volume Down and Power at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see a screen that says “ Root” . Now press Volume Up . After entering into root mode press and hold Volume Down and Power at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see a screen that says “ Finish” . Now release all of these buttons to finish rooting your phone.

Before you root your device, please keep in mind that all the data on it will be erased. Make sure to have a backup of your files before you do so.
