Install Windows 10X on Your PC
- The steps are simple, but they can be difficult to follow if you don’t know what you’re doing.
- There are a few things that you need to do in order to complete the steps correctly, and if you make any mistakes along the way, it could result in a lot of trouble.
- If you’re feeling confident about completing the steps, make sure to practice them as much as possible so that you’re comfortable with them before starting the project.
To install Windows 10X, we are going to use a virtual machine and that is because the performance on a virtual machine is actually better than an emulator. The ISO image of Windows 10X isn’t out so we are not going to install it on any physical hardware. For this, we are going to use a VHDX file that can be used only on Microsoft’s Hyper-V. The catch is that Microsoft Hyper-V is available only for Windows 10 Pro so you will need Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education. You can’t run Windows 10X on any third-party virtual machine apps. It is mandatory to have Hardware virtualization support through BIOS or UEFI. Users having AMD GPU can’t run Windows 10X. However, there might be a way which we have discussed below.
Now that we have established all the things that you need to know, let us start the process. First, we have to set up Hyper-V:
- Create a new virtual machine on your computer. This will be your primary workstation for Hyper-V.
- Choose the operating system for your virtual machine: Windows 10 or Windows 8.1.
- Choose a hypervisor: Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, or Microsoft Azure VM.
- Configure your networking and storage settings: You will need to create a network and storage account, set up shares on both devices, and configure networking options like DHCP and WINS (if you are using an external network).
- Install the Hyper-V drivers: You will need to install the Hyper-V drivers from Microsoft or VMware if you are using Windows 10 or 8.1; if you are using VMware, you will also need to install the vSphere Client 6.5 or higher and the vSphere Web Client 5.5 or higher
Setting Up Hyper-V
Step 2: Once you have enabled virtualization, we need to create a new user account for it. Just type in the name of your new user account and hit enter. You will be asked to provide a password for your new user account. Step 3: Next, we need to create a new partition on our hard drive for our virtualization environment. Just type in the name of the partition and hit enter. You will be asked to provide a size for your virtualization environment and also provide a location for your virtualization environment. Step 4: Finally, we need to install the VirtualBox software on our PC. Just type in the path to VirtualBox and hit enter. You will be asked to provide a path to your installation files and also provide an administrator password for your virtualization environment.
Now that you are in the BIOS menu, look for “Intel VT-x”, “Intel VT-d” or something similar and enable ‘Virtualization Technology’. This will allow your computer to run multiple operating systems at the same time. Navigate through different menus and press the “F10” key to save the changes. ..
Now let your computer reboot. Hyper-V will be enabled after the reboot. To enable Hyper-V, open Run and type “optionalfeatures.exe.” ..
Step 4: Scroll and search for Hyper-V check all the boxes and then press the OK button. It will install all the important files and your system will ask for a restart after the installation is done.
When your system reboots, type Hyper-V in the Windows search bar and hit enter.
Step 6: Hyper-V will now open.
Step 7: Now download the VHDX file from the link given just below. To complete the installation, you will need to download and install the VHDX file from the link below. This file will contain all of the necessary files and instructions for installing your new operating system. ..
When the download is done, extract the file to the “Flash.vhdx” file to an accessible location(desktop). It is recommended to save the file where you have a good amount of storage available.
In the ‘New’ window, click on the ‘Hyper-V’ icon and then click on the ‘Virtual Machine’ button. In the ‘Virtual Machine’ window, click on the ‘Create’ button. In the ‘Create’ window, enter a name for your new virtual machine and then click on the ‘OK’ button.
In this step, you will choose the name for your virtual machine.
Generation 2 is a new type of user that is more engaged with their technology than the previous generations. They are more likely to use their technology to do things like watch TV, listen to music, and read books.
Now that you have decided on the size of your virtual machine, you need to allocate some RAM for it. It is recommended to allot 3GB or more for a smooth performance.
In the Default Switch dialog, you will be asked to select a switch to use as your primary input device. You can choose to use a keyboard, mouse, or trackpad. If you are using a touchscreen device, you will also be asked to choose a input method.
Step 15: Click on the ‘Browse’ button, and select ‘Flash.vhdx’. Click on Next.
Your virtual machine is ready and this virtual machine will be used to run the latest Windows 10.
We will now create a virtual machine that will be used to install Windows 10X.
Install Windows 10X
In this second stage, we will be using the Windows 10X operating system to run our Hyper-V environment. This operating system is designed to be more efficient and faster than Windows 10.
Step 2: In the new window that pops up, type in the following information: -Name: My Virtual Machine -Location: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Virtualization -Type of VM: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) Step 3: Click on the ‘Connect’ button. Step 4: The virtual machine will start up and you will be able to see it in the ‘My Virtual Machine’ section of your computer’s windows.
Step 3: After the Windows 10X has loaded, you will see a new screen that looks like this: Step 4: On the left-hand side of this screen, you will see a list of all the devices that are connected to your Hyper-V environment. This list will include all the devices that are currently running Windows 10. You can click on any of these devices to start debugging and troubleshooting it.
AMD’s new graphics cards are causing black screens on some users’ computers. Some users are reporting that their computer screens go black after installing an AMD graphics card, and that they have to wait for a while for the computer to start up again. AMD is working on a fix for this problem, but in the meantime, some people are using an alternate graphics card. ..
The Windows 10X welcome animation will play when you first start the computer.
Step 4: Log in to your Microsoft account.
