If you are experiencing an error 7 when trying to flash a custom ROM on your device, don’t worry. We have a method to resolve the issue so that you can flash any ROM easily. Let’s get started. ..
What is Error 7 In TWRP?
If you are flashing a custom ROM on your Android or Tablet, it is possible that you may experience an error when trying to recover from a CWM (Clock Work Mode) Recovery. This is because the ROM updater-script file, which is designed for your product model, may not be correct. If you have missed some important steps previously, it might be helpful to check them out again.
The ‘Error: 7’ or ‘Status Error 7’ or ‘ZIP signature verification failed error’ can all be caused when there is a problem with the ROM’s updater script file or missed steps. If this happens, the ROM will not be able to update and you will need to contact the manufacturer for help.
If you have installed the wrong ROM updater script on your device, and you want to continue using the ROMs that were installed on your device by mistake, you can use the Assert mechanism to prevent yourself from downloading another phone’s ROM updater-script. However, this error may not harm your device; you can always go back and continue using whatever you were doing, but if you want to resolve this error, we recommend starting with the fix for resolving errors 7 in TWRP.
Fix
Format & Remove the Cache
- Format the cache partition on your device.

Update your Bootloader
If your Android’s bootloader is outdated, it may also lead to generating the error 7 while you are flashing any Custom ROM in the device. So try to update your Android device’s bootloader to the latest version before installing custom ROM.
Remove Assert Checks
If you are confident that the ROM’s updater script file is correct and don’t need to change, so you should try removing Assert checks. It will change the ROM package, which may be generating Error 7 in TWRP. To do so, follow these steps: ..
You can now flash the Custom ROM using the following steps:
- Unzip the ROM zip file into your PC.
- Copy the META-INF folder to your phone or tablet.
- Reboot your Android phone into recovery mode.
- Retry flashing Custom ROM.
- If you get an error message in TWRP or Status Error 7, then the ROM has been successfully flashed and you can enjoy its benefits!
Install Latest Recovery Version
If you are using an Android device that is running an older version of the Android operating system, it is important to make sure that you have a custom recovery version installed.
